Många verkar längta efter Donald Antrims nya roman, men om man gillar noveller är hans nya samling, The Emerald Light in the Air, en av höstens hetaste böcker. Den har fått strålande kritik – vi länkar till två bra recensioner, ett närgånget porträtt och, inte minst, titelnovellen, publicerad i New Yorker tidigare i år. Ulin beskriver en rörelse i novellerna, som är skrivna under många års tid, mot en mer realistisk prosa. Det beskriver han, och andra kritiker, som något positivt. Recensionerna har över lag varit mycket bra, med mycket jämförelser med stora kanoniserade amerikanska författare.
