What is the idea behind the series and how did it come about?
I was digging through old files on a hard drive when I came across an ampersand I’d designed back in university. It was very simple, but it felt like a nice starting point to embellish upon with some 3D treatments I was exploring. One of these treatments involved covering the ampersand with simulated fur, and this resulted in the pun Amfursand. From there it evolved into a series where I experimented with different fur treatments and the resulting characteristics they bring to the logogram.
