Applåderna
Vi har alla applåderat våra sjuksystrar, men nu är det dags att gå från ord till handling. All vårdande och omvårdande personal – syrror, uskor och de som arbetar inom äldreomsorgen – måste få kraftigt förstärkta resurser, inte bara bättre möjligheter till ut- och fortbildning, utan mer pengar i lönekuverten. Kommunal har ett gyllene tillfälle att mobilisera och alla väljare bör sätta sig in i riksdagspartiernas vårdpolitik. Nu fläskas det på en del, men 2020 kan det se annorlunda ut.
Erfarenheterna
Och i sommar borde alla läsa åtminstone en bok skriven av någon som arbetar inom ett vårdyrke, och som beskriver sitt yrke mer ingående. Hur var det att arbeta under de nyliberala vansinnesåren, med alla nedskärningar, privatiseringar och ständigt nya ”rationaliseringar” och omorganiseringar? Före Corona: Rationalitet. Efter Corona: Förnuft och motståndskraft. Hur var det att arbeta under coronaepidemin? Hur är det att arbeta med dementa personer? Och hur är det att vårda patienter i livets slutskede?
Insändare i Dagens Nyheter: ”Hemtjänsten är ett av de mest krävande jobb som finns” av Elisabeta Meyler. Det är en insändare, men det är inte bara åsikter, Meyler berättar om sina erfarenheter.
